« Ce qu'il faut de malheur pour la moindre chanson Ce qu'il faut de regrets pour payer un frisson Ce qu'il faut de sanglots pour un air de guitare Il n'y a pas d'amour heureux. »« What you need to be sad for the least song What to do need to regret for a thrill What you need to cry for a guitar tune There is no happy love. »Il n’y a pas d’amour heureux, Louis Aragon, 1944« Louis Aragon means that creating implies sadness and I wanted to explore the contrary. To me an universal happy moment was childhood and that’s how the collection started: DayDreaming like a child. How to explore childhood and happiness in the collection, basing myself on my own experiences and taste at that time. Appart from personal references of my own childhood wardrobe, the collection is undeniably 60s as my favorite movie was Les Demoiselles De Rochefort by Jacques Demy (1967), that I use to watch every Sunday morning. The dreamy movie explores love, colors, happiness but also to me the transition between a child and an adult, and how even adults never loose their immature side, their carefree attitude, without being naive. Between the girl and the woman, ROWEN ROSE this season explores another aspect of her character. She is strong and powerful just like the women in the movie, but has this childish innocent side. She lives life daydreaming like a child, but with a precise goal: becoming a woman. »
